Redmi Note 5/Redmi Note 5 Pro Fast Charging – Does it actually support?
Here’s what the truth:
Redmi Note 5 comes with Snapdragon 625 while the pro version comes with Snapdragon 636 processor. With both the processors having the capability to support fast charging feature, it was found that both the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro support fast charging i.e., Quick Charge 2.0.
Quick charge 2.0 is confirmed on the official website of Xiaomi also mentions the support of Quick Charge 2.0 on Redmi Note 5 Pro.
Sadly, there is no news about the Quick Charge 3.0 on both the devices. But yes, something is always better than nothing.
With the support of Quick Charge 2.0 on both the devices, both are able to draw a voltage of up to 9V which confirms the fast charging support in Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 5.
With Quick Charge 2.0, the devices can charge around 50% in half an hour. But the charger provided by Xiaomi is a standard 5V/2A charger. Users will have to buy a separate charger which supports QC 2.0 to enjoy the fast charging benefits.
