Meanwhile, Jio has also launched their broadband services with attractive offers.

JioFi3 password may need to be changed regularly for security purpose. It is also advised to disable WPS as there are high chances that one can connect to JioFi using WPS hacks.

How to change JioFi3 password in two different scenarios.

The two scenarios here are :

  1. You know the current password of JioFi.
  2. You have forgotten the password of Jiofi.

How to change JioFi3 password knowing your current password?

You are connected to Jiofi3 by your current password or default password mentioned on the JioFi box or backside of your Jiofi device and you want to change Jiofi password. So if that is the case, follow this guide of How to change Jiofi3 password.

Step 1: While you are connected to Jiofi, open any browser and access this URL http://jiofi.local.html/ or http://192.168.225.1

Note: Remember to include http:// with 192.168.225.1 to avoid a google search.




Step 2: On accessing http://192.168.225.1 or http://jiofi.local.html/ your JioFi3 web admin page will be in front of you where you can see different details about your JioFi network. Head over to the top right where you will find a login option. On opening login option, you will be asked for username and password which is by default administrator and administrator respectively. With these login details, sign in.

Step 3: The same page of JioFi configuration interface will be re-opened again but now you are logged in meaning you have the right to change your JioFi settings. Head over to Network section which you will find right beside the Status section.

Step 4: With the Network section open, on the left side, you will find a bar consisting of different options, one of them which is WiFi Configuration. Open the WiFi Configuration page and at the bottom, you will find your current JioFi password which can be viewed by unchecking the hidden button. Type in your new password and hit save. On clicking save, a dialogue box will appear, hit OK and you will be disconnected from your Jiofi router which is a confirmation that your JioFi password is successfully changed. With the new password, connect to JioFi3 again.

How to change JioFi3 password without knowing your current password

You have forgotten the password of your JioFi. In this case, you must reset your JioFi using the following instructions. If that is the case, follow this guide on how to reset your Jiofi and how to change Jiofi password.

How to reset JioFi3

Step 1: Open the back cover of your JioFi3 device. Take a sim ejector tool or a thin hard pin. On the bottom left of the device, you will find a tiny hole. Keeping your device on, insert the pin into the hole until you hear a click sound. Hold insert the pin for about 30 seconds until your device turns off. This gives a confirmation that your device is reset successfully.

Step 2: Turn on your device. Find the default password given on the bottom side of JioFi box or on the backside of your JioFi3 device with battery removed. Using that password connect to your JioFi router.

Step 3:  The default password given by the manufacturer is very complicated which makes it hard to remember. So the next step is to change JioFi password. While you are connected to JioFi3, open any browser and access this URL http://jiofi.local.html/ or http://192.168.225.1

How to change JioFi3 Admin Username and Password:

Step 1: Login to JioFi page with default set username ‘administrator’ and password ‘administrator’. If you had changed your username or password and if you have forgotten any of the two then you must reset you Jiofi device to set default username and password.

Step 2: Open the User Management tab at the right. Under the User management tab, open the Account Management window.

Step 3: Enter your desired ‘username’ and ‘password’ and hit Save. This will successfully change the login username and password of Jiofi3.

NOTE: Jiofi3 password and Login password are two different passwords. JioFi password cannot be used to login to admin page unless they are set same.
